When jailbreaking if you are on 2.0.1 download that firmware, if you are on 2.0.2 download that firmware, it will not upgrade you if you are on 2.0.1 and jailbreak it by selecting the 2.0.2 firmware. Although you can upgrade and jailbreak but you don’t have to.

1.Download your firmware(this can take from 40 min to 2 hours)Also this only jailbreaks 2.0.1,2.0.2, and 2.1 firmwares it says in the video.

2. Open Quickpwn

3. Connect your device

4. Find the firmware you downloaded

5. Depending on the device,you might need the bootloaders v.39 & v.46.

6. Pick what you want to add to your phone.PS you don’t get to pick which logos you want. Sucks: yes

7. Once your at the screen that says “Make sure device is connected”Make sure it’s connected.

8. At this time It will say “Preparing device for jailbreak” get ready to start the process

9. Follow the instructions(yes you can be a little off and if you mess up you can restart.)

10. Once it gets to “Hold down the home button for 30 seconds”and starts counting down,even if the words go gray,hold down the home button until you see it saying “Downloading Jailbreak Data” , it has a picture of a hard drive, and it has a loading sign at the bottom of the screen.

11.Be patient and let it load.

12.It might go to boot neuter and put in the settings but this doesn’t mean it’s done.It will restart again after this.

13. While reloading it might take a little bit longer than usual or it might take shorter than usual.

14. Enjoy your freshly jailbroken device.

In this video, I give some reasons why you should hold off on updating your iPhone to firmware 2.2. If you are planning to perform a software based unlock (the ability to use any GSM carrier) on your iPhone 3G eventually, you should definitely hold off on updating. If you have a first generation iPhone, you should be ok according to the iPhone Dev Team. The team believes this update won’t affect jailbreaks, they still want to properly test the new firmware prior to releasing a new QuickPwn or Pwnage Tool that supports 2.2. Personally, I believe it’s a good idea to wait if you really value the jailbroken state however, there are security concerns to consider.
