Yes, it’s right that jailbreaking is always a risk, but if you want to run cool and free apps these days that’s the only choice. Here’s my answer to your question. There are now different tools you can now use to jailbreak your iPhone, this depends on whether you are a Mac or Windows user too. Here’s the site link that I’ve been following all along and I’ve found it up to date and dependable and I’ve not yet broken anything along the way.

From my source, you will see that the latest is Pwnage 2.0.3.1 not 2.0, it is the most powerful tool but only suitable for Mac users. The other option is easier, is to use QuickPwn 2.0.2 (more info in the link) this tool is now also supported by many experts who know their stuff about jailbreaking and hacking the iphone. QuickPwn has the advantage that it supports both OSs and doesn’t require you to do a iTunes based full restore. The third option available at the moment is only for Windows users, called WinPwn, this I do not recommend as not every user have decided to choose this tool.

So if you asked me which is safest, I would suggest you check out the Pwnage Tool and QuickPwn. QuickPwn would be my first choice if you’re not too familiar with jailbreaking, it’s dead simple! In my view, the safest, is the latest updated tools, the more recent its release, the more support you will be able to find on forums, blogs, etc… just in case you run into any problem, hope this helps!
