I'm looking to take all the songs I already downloaded from limewire and make them into ringtones for my iphone. When I research online i get all this junk about creating acc files in m4r files but my files are in mp3 form. could someone please help me, i'm not great with computers and i really want some ringtones!

The only legal way you can do it at the moment is to use any of the 500,000 Ring tone songs from iTunes that have the little bell icon beside them.
You might have to look for alternative software to make your lime wire songs into ring tones but be carefull as the iPhone updates may affect those songs.

2 iPhone family with lots of ringtones!
Before you do all this let me help you. I did create my own ringtones from limewire but the last apple update to my iphone deleted my ringtones not from apple. So you will need to pay 99 cents and create you a rintone from apple. There is something coded in the ringtone for apple to know whether you got it from them or not.
