Do I have to extend my current contract to get an iphone 3g? If so, How much will it cost?
Posted by admin on Saturday Oct 22, 2011 Under iphone 3gI just recently signed a two year contract with AT&T. In order to get the iphone, does that mean that I have to stay with AT&T for 2 more years (making it 4 years) in order to get the iphone 3g? Do I have to terminate my current contract? How much will it cost?
If you currently have the original iPhone, it will be a breeze. Your old contract will disappear regardless of how far into it you are, a new one will start and you’ll pay the fully subsidized price ($200 or $300 for 8GB or 16GB, respectively).
However, if you have another phone and you just recently started your 2 year contract, AT&T will not subsidize your iPhone 3G purchase, so you’ll pay $200 more (making it $400 or $500).
I believe your contract will just start over in either situation.

if you have a current contract, you can keep it and just change phones. It should only cost you the price of the iphone.

If that doesn’t work, call and ask AT&T
