I heard that if you jailbreak your iphone you can’t use itunes to put music on ur iphone. they said that itunes can detect is is jailbroken and brick it? is this corrct?

Why would you jailbreak it anyways? The App store has almost everything you need, and they’ll be coming out with backgrounds for your home screen, and probably a flash player soon.

SDK is out and comprehensive, any reason why i'd want to jailbreak my iphone?

Yes. Emulators. Themes. MMS. Porn.

Those are pretty much the reason why people would still jailbreak.

It's because three out of the four cannot be done in the SDK. And the last one is not allowed by Apple.

Basically if you jailbreak it and you decide to restore it to its default state.. no they can not find out as most cases it just uses an ftsab file which gets deleted upon restoration. Now unlocking is a different story…. if you unlock your iPhone then yes they can find out as it hacks things that a restore does not restorate and with most new unlocks like BootNeuter.app it unlocks the bootloader, once it does this Apple will always be able to find out . iDemocracy's Unlock is ok though as you can re-virginize that.

I know if you jailbreak (not fully unlock to different carriers) then you void the warranty. Let's say I jailbreak my iPhone and it has problems or breaks or something. I restore my iPhone. Can I take it into Apple and have them help me like they would a normal non-jailbreak question? In other terms, will my phone have a record or something that tells whether or not it's been jail-broken? Please only answer if you really know, and please don't ask me to talk to apple.

You Can Take it to apple if it breaks, provided you have restored to original software (ie not jailbroken).

beware though, apple will get suspicious if there is no data (ie phone numbers, music etc) on the iphone so its worthwhile putting your data back on first.

I currently have a 8 GB iphone running 1.1.4 and is with AT&T. I want to jailbreak it but i cant decide which jailbreaking software is the best. I need a program that has the lowest risk of breaking the phone and wont mess with system strings. I also need a program that runs on Mac OSX.

No, the best program out there is iLiberty+ from www.theiphoneproject.org.

PwangeTool is used if you wanted to restore, and at the end of the restore, already have a jailbroken iPhone. It is the same thing as clicking restore in iTunes, then using a program like iLiberty to jailbreak. It just puts it all in one firmware package.

iLiberty+ is the fastest and you won't have to restore. (btw, don't use ZiPhone)

When jailbreaking if you are on 2.0.1 download that firmware, if you are on 2.0.2 download that firmware, it will not upgrade you if you are on 2.0.1 and jailbreak it by selecting the 2.0.2 firmware. Although you can upgrade and jailbreak but you don’t have to.
