i wanted to jailbreak my iphone and know a couple of friends that have done it but i don't want to void my warranty, will apple ever make the 3rd party apps for the iphone? even if you do have to pay for them.
yeah because i really don't want to jail break it.
also is there a way that i can get the wallpaper in the background all the time?
Yes, of course! That's the whole buzz about the SDK…professionals are making games and applications now (Electronic Arts, AOL, SEGA) as opposed to individuals who probably learned Objective-C a month or two before they released their apps.
Guess what? Almost ALL the applications coming in June are literally ten times better!
For example, currently, Tap Tap Revolution cannot save tap files from iTunes Library…only from New Tracks.
I ported it over and allowed for that saving. I also added two more frets making it a total of five frets. Also, long notes are added, battle view, etc.
Oh yeah, because it's the Apple SDK, it doesn't crash!
Most likely EA Games is going to make 70+ levels of Spore! Considering TTR and Tetris are the best games in jailbreaking…come on, Spore already owns any game out there in jailbreaking.
AOL's AIM application should be able run in the background without crashing (unlike MobileChat, Apollo IM, and Fring which crash after a while…even with Insomnia)
Have you seen Super Monkey Ball and Spore on the iPhone? Considering the only public 3D game in jailbreaking is 3D pacman (which is on the same level of graphics as early Doom), you can tell that it's going to be better.
The only thing that will not be there…are applications that change the home screen themes (Like Customize or Summerboard)…anything that violates the Terms won't be allowed.
Anyway, the applications are both free and paid. AOL's AIM will be free (of course…currently all their AIM clients are free).
But will Spore be free? Heck no. Not while it looks pretty darn similar to the real Spore and the fact that it will most likely have over 70 levels!
Bejeweled 2 won't be free….cause it already costs like $20 for the PC or Mac version…and since Bejeweled 2 can be fully ported over (not like some other games where they have to cut stuff to compensate), there's no reason for a price cut (though I think they'll charge no more than $10).
You can jailbreak if you want. Just remember to connect to iTunes and restore before going to the Apple store. That will erase any traces of the jailbreak.
