How do you make the iphone work on orange network after the new 2.0 update?

I got my iphone from america an then got it unlocked. It has worked for months on the orange network and today i installed the new 20 update. Now itunes says "the SIM inserted in this iPhone does not appear to be supported. So how can i get my iPhone to work again on orange or even get it working because the actual phone will only let me make emergancy calls. So please help. Im desperate!!!

Will the old iPhone have turn by turn GPS too? Or is it only for the iPhone 3G? Does anyone know? I'm hoping it will at least help the current location thing on google maps just because most of the time it gives me a HUGE circle where I could be anywhere. it would be a huge help if they did update it.

No, Only the old one, Because the old one does not have the hardware equipment that it needs to have a GPS. The 3G has that and only that one is going to be a Turn by turn GPS device.The old one is giving your position in maps by Cellphone towers. and wireless signal. So its not 100 percent accurate.

Is it safe to update my unlocked iphone?

I have and unlocked iphone with a stealth sim so that i can use it with any sim card. Currently i have version 1.1.2 is it safe for me to update my iphone to version 1.1.3? Or will this lock the phone?

I don't know how true it is but I heard that if u update u will loose any application u have safe on the phone. Its Apple's wait to fight the unlock phones.
