The Apple iPhone has become one of the most popular products in recent years but there are some limitations to the iPhone.

iPhone has 2.75G quad-band GSM capability, its text and email services and Wi-Fi services, but it is far from perfect.It does have its setbacks or limitations.Not only do Apple keep us from using certain features but they also prevent iPhone customization in some instances. These problems should be resolved very soon in the near future though.

No custom ringtones

One of the biggest limitations that the iPhone has is that the product does not allow for any custom ringtones to be used.Simply ridicules as we can save hundres of mp3 files in iPhones’s 4, 8 or 16 gigabyte hard drive space but we cannot use any of these files as ringtones.  Only the ones that are available on the phone can use them.

Apple had in fact set it up that you should pay through iTunes store in order to get customized ring tones which I am really not happy about.I found other solutions that need to download a software for such customization but a small price. I find that this feature of the iPhone, customization is greately limited.

Camera on the iPhone

The camera on the iPhone is a strong one, as it has two megapixels of picture quality. While pictures can be taken for sending to people or for iPhone customization there is a significant limitation to the camera.  I have not heard Apples plan for further upgrade on this picture quality.

As far as I know, it does not record video. The 4, 8 or 16 gigabyte hard drive is a major factor in this because recording one’s video files could take up a great amount of phone space.

Limited Flash support

Flash is used on many popular websites, including hot video sites like Google Video and Youtube. There is limited Flash support on the iPhone though. It makes it difficult to surf certain sites on the Internet as a result. With more websites than ever before getting into the world of Flash programming this will be a great problem unless Apple is able to fix it in the future.

Difficulty to write

The last of the limitations of the iPhone is that of the difficultly in writing things at times. The iPhone has a touch screen feature and it can be tough to write things on the iPhone with speed. For example, although there is a virtual keyboard on the iPhone, users have to go to another menu to enter special characters like commas, punctuation marks every time. While the touch screen is great and is incredibly responsive to what one enters on it this is a problem that makes it harder to write things.
